Mr. Hero? The Newmatic Man? Best book Tekno ever put out - even taking into account Leonard Nimoy's Primortals.

That be the one. I guess it didn't get a real ending, did it? Last I remember, Mr. Hero met another steam-powered pugilist. Never did see how it resolved.
Now PRIMORTALS was awesome. Actually, I don't remember much. It did get a novelization, though. And told me all about SETI.
