Comics that need to be published again, pt 2

Toka, Jungle King, Dell Comics.

"I must save my strength. Worse dangers lie ahead." Toka knows how to pace himself and conserve energy. He probably just doesn't want to kill his buzz.

I find this cover mystifying. Did one of those savage jungle queens tie Toka's ankle to a log? Does Toka always speak in a monotone stoner voice, with no exclamation points? Why couldn't they have actually drawn the stake or post that the damsel is tied to? Can you really put a jaguar in a sleeper hold? Are slavery, death, and civilization equally deadly choices? One seems much deadlier than the others (hint: death).

Toka: the comic book that entertains and makes you think. Clearly this needs to be published again.

Apparently fighting a jaguar isn't the most pressing issue, so it's best just to chill out and defeat it using the least amount of energy possible. If I had to fight a wild animal right now, I would tend to put all my effort into it, maybe use both arms, but I'm sure afterwards I would be yawning through the rest of my busy day if I survived.

I also notice that the Jungle King's jungle is less than jungle-y. Outside of a low-lying leafy plant located behind the damsel, not a single tree is in sight. No vines. No jungle canopy. Just a leafy plant that my office park has in the central corridor and a log. Is this Toka Jungle King or Toka Grass Prairie King?

BTW, why is the sky yellow?
